Innovact Consulting are proud to announce their sponsorship of the Adelaide White Pointers Underwater Rugby Team in the 2015 (n)ODEX Underwater Rugby Tournament to be held in Sydney.
The Adelaide White Pointers will represent South Australia in the Sydney Nationals from 31st October 2015 – 1st November 2015.
What is Underwater Rugby (UWR)?
- UWR is a dynamic three dimensional sport played in a 5m deep pool, where teams score by inserting a negatively buoyant ball (filled with salt water) into the opponent’s goal which is firmly fixed to the pool floor.
- Each game involves two teams of six active players per team. Two Goalkeepers, two Backs, and two Full Forwards make up the strategic positions.
- The sport originated in Germany in the 1960s as a means for scuba divers to stay fit during winter. Nearly 60 years later, it is played in over 30 countries worldwide.
